Inside Survivor Straw, water passes through:

1. Intake screen & pre-filter layer
   • Helps catch coarse sediments, sand, rust and visible particles.
2. Ahlstrom electro-adsorptive media
   • Charged fibers help reduce many bacteria and protozoa in suitable low-turbidity water.
   • Ion-exchange sites designed to reduce selected heavy metals such as lead, nickel and mercury under defined conditions.
   • Adsorptive surfaces help reduce chlorine and some chemical residues, improving taste and odor.
3. Fine support / flow layer
   • Helps stabilize flow, so sipping feels firm but manageable when the filter is fresh.

What this means in practice

• Water often tastes and smells cleaner than straight from taps or tanks.
• Extra reduction of certain microbes, metals and chemical residues in appropriate water sources.
